Pádraig Harrington is an accomplished Irish professional golfer born on August 31, 1971, in Dublin, Ireland. He turned professional in 1995, following a successful amateur career that included winning the Irish Amateur Championship in 1991 and 1994, and the Sherry Cup in Spain in 1995.

Harrington has had a prolific career on the European Tour and the PGA Tour, amassing numerous victories and establishing himself as one of the top golfers of his generation.

His most notable accomplishments include winning three major championships: the British Open Championship in 2007 and 2008, and the PGA Championship in 2008. The back-to-back victories at the British Open made him the first European golfer to accomplish this feat since James Braid in 1905-1906. He has also represented Europe in the Ryder Cup multiple times, contributing to several team victories.

Throughout his career, Harrington has been recognised for his exceptional talent and dedication to the sport. He has received various awards, including the European Tour Golfer of the Year in 2007 and 2008, and the PGA Tour Player of the Year in 2008. As of September 2021, Pádraig Harrington has won a total of 31 professional tournaments, and he remains an active competitor on the international golfing stage.
